The plot of Bumboo: A hilarious comedy of errors
Bumboo is based on an original play/film L'emmerdeur written by Francis Veber. The movie revolves around a professional hitman named Mangal Singh who takes a contract to kill a stock market scammer named Manu Gupta in front of the Goa High Court where he is to stand on trial. Mangal Singh plans to do the job from a hotel room which is opposite to the court.
However, his plan is disrupted by Suresh Sudhakar, a press photographer who is sent to Goa to cover Manu Gupta's trial and checks-in at the same hotel next to Mangal Singh's room. Suresh is heartbroken after his ex-wife Pinky dumps him for another man. He tries to commit suicide by hanging from the bathroom shower but fails.
The bellboy Vincent hears the noise and opens the connecting-door between Mang al Singh's and Suresh's rooms. He saves Suresh and informs the hotel manager who calls Dr. D'Souza, a psychiatrist, to counsel Suresh.
Mangal Singh is annoyed by the commotion and tries to get rid of Suresh, Vincent, and Dr. D'Souza. He pretends to be Suresh's friend and tells them that he will take care of him. He also bribes Vincent to keep quiet about the connecting-door.
However, Suresh becomes clingy and starts to confide in Mangal Singh about his personal problems. He also discovers Mangal Singh's gun and assumes that he is a cop. He begs him to help him get back his ex-wife. Mangal Singh tries to avoid him but fails.
Meanwhile, Manu Gupta is escorted by two policemen from the court to the hotel where he is staying. He is also followed by a rival hitman named Bachchan who wants to kill him before Mangal Singh does. Bachchan checks-in at the same hotel and plans to shoot Manu Gupta from his room.
The movie then follows a series of comic events where Mangal Singh, Suresh, Vincent, Dr. D'Souza, Manu Gupta, Bachchan, and Pinky get involved in a chaotic situation that leads to a hilarious climax.
